Two workshops with Juliana and percussionist Tim Garside: Playing and Dancing Egyptian Rhythms for Musicians and Dancers.
1. Learning to Play the Tabla with Tim 12-1.30pm. Cost: £18
2. Dancing to Egyptian Rhythms with Juliana and Tim 2-4pm. Cost: £20.
Both workshops: £35
‘Learning to Play the Tabla with Tim’: this workshop is open to non-dancers. You will need to bring your own percussion instrument. Please contact me if you want to come but have not got an instrument. We might be able to sort something out.
‘Dancing to Egyptian Rhythms’ is for intermediate or advanced level dancers. We will look at how movement and percussion influence each other, how to play with it, create tension and improvise. There will be a short warm-up on mats.
Venue: Chisenhale Dance Studios, 64-84 Chisenhale Rd, London E3 5QZ. Nearest tubes: Mile End (Circle and District and Central Lines) and Bethnal Green; buses: 8, D6 and 277.
