People

The Raqs Sharqi Society represents an affiliation of people with a shared vision of Egyptian Dance who seek to teach, perform and maintain traditional and classical Egyptian dance and develop it in a contemporary context. We have Members and Associate Members:

• Members: these are people who have completed a Raqs Sharqi Society Teacher Training Course or were trained teachers of The Hilal School of Egyptian Dance.
• Associate Members: share the Raqs Sharqi Society’s vision and understanding of Egyptian dance. and maintain high standards in Raqs Sharqi performance and teaching.
